What is ECO4?

ECO4 is the UK Government’s Energy Company Obligation scheme running until March 2026.

It funds energy-efficiency improvements in eligible homes through obligated energy suppliers.

The aim is to improve EPC ratings, reduce household energy costs, and help tackle fuel poverty. Many ECO4 grants exceed £30,000.


Who can qualify?

You may be eligible if any of the following apply:

Financial or EPC criteria

  • Your household’s total gross annual income is below £31,000, or
  • You receive qualifying income-related benefits (e.g., Universal Credit, Pension Credit), and
  • Your home has a low EPC rating of E, F, or G

Health-related eligibility (via ECO4 Flex)

You may also qualify if someone in the home suffers from:

  • A cardiovascular condition
  • A respiratory disease
  • Limited mobility
  • Immunosuppression
