ECO4. This ECO grant scheme is totally different to all of the previous ECO grant schemes. This is a “Whole House” grant scheme. It includes insulation, heating and renewables. Therefore, it’s really a game changer with £30,000+ grants being spent on homes to improve their energy efficiency and to reduce their Carbon Footprint. However, both the applicant and the property will need to qualify.

The Great British Insulation Grant Scheme in Cardiff (GBIS). The Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) is a single insulation scheme. It covers Cavity Wall Insulation, Loft Insulation, Internal Wall Insulation and all the other insulations.

However, loft insulation is available with Cavity Wall Insulation as a secondary measure. The amount of the grant depends on

• The type of insulation. External wall insulation is 10x the cost of cavity wall insulation.
• The floor area of the property. The bigger the better!
• Your Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating on the day of the survey. The lower the better. If your property doesn’t have an EPC, don’t panic; we will sort that out when we survey your property.
• Your council tax banding.

Because of the way the grant is calculated, it may not always cover the full cost of the work. However, Cavity Wall Insulation will always be free, and so will loft insulation if being installed with cavity wall insulation. There are no Income thresholds, and Government Benefits are not required.
